Support Positions

Educational Student Support Specialist
We are looking for an individual who will bring a dedicated, dynamic and compassionate disposition to support students in our Learning Support Program. This individual would work collaboratively as part of a team and would be expected to manage students in both one-to-one and small group situations. The successful candidate must have the ability to support students in Mathematics and Science, through a minimum of Grade 10 (preference will be given to candidates who are capable at a higher academic level) as well having strong writing and editing skills. Understanding students with diverse learning needs and an ability to support students with organizational strategies and effective study habits is essential.

A successful candidate will:

  • Competency in high school math and science courses
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff, students and parents
  • Willingness and skill to use multiple approaches to teaching and supporting diverse learners
  • Strong technology skills, including online research skills and support of learners online/li>
  • A gentle disposition that includes respect for difference to engage with students who may have challenging social-emotional needs or developmental disorders
  • Ability to teach with kindness and flexibility to support students in their learning
  • Have a strong team orientation
  • A desire to always improve one’s teaching practice and the learning experience for students

Teacher on Call
We are seeking a number of Teachers on Call across all teaching disciplines for daily and temporary coverage during the current school year.

A successful candidate will:

  • Be certified to teach in British Columbia
  • Have experience with and knowledge of BC Ministry curricula
  • Have a Bachelors degree in his/her teaching specialty
  • Have experience in incorporating technology for learning
  • Work consistently, with kindness and flexibility to support students in their learning
  • Work cooperatively with teachers, parents, and school community members
  • Have a strong team orientation
  • Possess excellent planning and organization skills
  • Promote student-centered learning in his/her daily classes
