Available Positions

Spanish Teacher [Part time (0.75 FTE) Maternity Leave]
Starting: March/April 2020
We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and compassionate Spanish Teacher to join our school family. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and inspire students to be actively engaged developing their skills in their language learning. The teacher will have the ability to teach Spanish for Grades 9 through 12, This position has a lot of preparation time, and mentorship is available, to support the teacher in their transition to our King David family. Although this position is listed as part-time (0.75 FTE) it is possible, depending on the skills of the successful candidate, that this could be increased to full time (1.0 FTE). This is a maternity leave position and it is expected to begin in March or April of 2020 and last through June 2020 and may be renewable for the remainder of the maternity leave in 2020-2021.

Requirements for the position:
  • Be certified to teach in British Columbia with a university degree in this teaching discipline, or able to be certified or receive a Letter of Permission through the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • A documented ability to teach with kindness and flexibility to support students in their learning
  • A desire to always improve one’s teaching practice and the learning experience for students
  • Value diversity as it relates to all people, including aspects of identity, as well as having respect for indigenous traditions and ways of knowing

Staff Assistant [Part time]
Starting: Immediately
We are looking for a Staff Assistant to join our school family. The successful candidate will be a team player interested in working with adolescents. This is a part-time position (less than half-time to start) and is available immediately. The hours will be determined with the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will:
  • Support the school administration team, office and teaching staff performing a variety of tasks
  • Drive and supervise students during volunteer activities
  • Drive students to and from fieldtrips and athletic games
  • Enjoy working with adolescents and adults and be a kind, caring, supportive and positive role model
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Establish respectful relationships with staff, students and parents

Requirements for the position:
  • Undergo a criminal record check performed by the school.

  • Have a Bachelors degree in his/her teaching specialty
  • Have experience in incorporating technology for learning
