KOL HAKAVOD TO GORDON DIAMOND

It is so fitting that today in our newsletter, when we celebrate King David, we also congratulate our patron, Gordon Diamond on being named to the Order of Canada. We know Gordon and Leslie are so very proud of us and we are so proud and grateful to them.

THANK YOU!   TODAH RABAH!   GRACIAS!   MERCI!

Our community’s shared commitment to King David High School and Jewish education is our true strength and it was on full display last night! Thanks to you, our school’s in-person alumni celebration gala was a huge success! Many months of planning culminated in a magical evening!

It was a true connecting of generations through education! With over 300 tickets sold, the ballroom at Beth Israel was filled with grandparents, parents, faculty, community supporters and many King David alumni! We were delighted to be able to recognize the significant success of over 725 King David graduates, so capably represented by Emcee, David Kaye, Class of 2006, and Keynote Speaker, Aaron Friedland, Class of 2010.

Through your generous support, we raised awareness for the value of our Jewish High School as well as more than $200,000, that will provide support to students and programs – a truly remarkable amount that far exceeded our expectations! Your gifts allow us to set ambitious goals and to make student dreams a reality.

If you missed last night, here are a few moments from the evening

We have so many people to thank for making the Golden Thread Gala such a stunning experience. Thank you to our emcee, David Kaye, our auctioneer, Howard Blank, and our special keynote speaker, Aaron Friedland.

Your support has a long-lasting impact on our students. Watch the video below and hear how a King David education has impacted King David alumni.

And of course, we always celebrate our students, faculty, and families who make King David a special place to be every day! We are excited to see what the future holds for us.

This spectacular evening would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the Gala Committee and their group of volunteers. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to them all.
