A WEEK FILLED WITH RUACH!
In the midst of the dark winter months, Student Council filled our school with colour and ruach (spirit) during Spirit Week! In addition to five incredible daily dress-up themes, there were fun activities every lunch hour including a hula hoop competition, a candy jar guessing game, movie viewing, and best dressed prizes! Thank you for lifting our spirits, Student Council!
EXPERIMENTING WITH GRAINS
Our Foods 11/12 students continued their unit on grains this week by making roasted butternut squash/apple maple millet muffins.
DEVELOPING A LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This week, members of the Social Justice Committee, along with Ms. Bonnycastle, Ms. Bogner and Ms. Wiesenthal, engaged in a Zoom conversation with Carleen Thomas, from the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
Carleen generously shared her wisdom and experience with us, as we begin our journey towards creating and using a Land Acknowledgement at King David.
JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM REMAIN UNDEFEATED!
The Junior Boys continue their undefeated GVISAA season, with a win over rival WPGA by a score of 58-39. Arel Steen had an outstanding game scoring 33 points, and Paul Zychlinski did an excellent job of commanding the point guard position. GO LIONS!
WELCOME TO THE NEW JUDAICS OFFICE
We are thrilled about our new digs. The new Judaics office, which used to be the second-floor alcove off the Atrium is now a bright, light, and inviting space. We have already welcomed many guests, students and teachers alike, including hosting an office warming with staff on Thursday (pictured above). Nitzan Berger and Olivia Levsky have decorated the walls with cheerful, positive notes inside and out. Thank you, Russ Klein and Alex Monchamp, for spoiling us!
