Thank you! Todah Rabah!

Each year our graduating students receive two special gifts:

  • A handcrafted mezuzah from our Parent Action Committee (PAC) so that when they use their mezuzah, they know that a small piece of their King David home will always be with them. A very special thank you to Limor Sabi, Aviv’s mother, and Lx Laser and Metal Supply for designing and making this beautiful mezuzah!
  • A King David pin from our Board of Directors

This year, they received an additional gift from Robert and Elke Mermelstein – Letters to the Next Generation by Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks.

The year has gone by too quickly and it is now time for us to say l’hitraot to the four shinshiniot – Yael, Dana, Shahaf, and Dani – as they head off to settle in at their summer programs. They have added so much ruach in the schools and community and have made an impact on Jewish life in Vancouver. Thank you! Todah Rabah!

We are grateful to the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver for bringing this program to Vancouver.

Music 8 Rocks!

On Wednesday, staff and fellow students were treated to a performance by the last group of Grade 8 students cycling through the Music elective rotation. The students completing their rotation in Foods carried in trays of scones and cream to make sure everyone was well fed, too!
Math Medals!

Our Mathematics award winners: Sarah, Josh, Aaron, and Noam

This year was a very successful one for our Mathematics students. Several students from Grades 8, 9, 10 and 12 participated in the University of Waterloo Mathematics contests. These contests are nationally and internationally recognized by institutes of higher education.

Our contest winners are:
Grade 8: Certificate of Excellence: Top of Class – Noam Guralnick
Grade 9: Medallist: Top of Class – Aaron Schaffer
Grade 10: Medallist: Top of Class – Sarah Tedford
Grade 12: Medallist: Top of Class – Josh Bugis

To receive a medal, students must attain a score above a certain level. In Grade 10, we had three students in medal contention!

Well done to all participants!
Shabbat Shalom!
