Our athletic program encourages the students to treat one another with respect and dignity. We hold our students to high standards of sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation and enthusiasm. Students involved in physical education as well as extracurricular athletics have great pride and take responsibility to represent their school with positive attitudes, competitiveness and leadership. Since KDHS teams compete against a wide variety of schools, student athletes frequently develop a greater awareness of racial, ethnic, and religious diversity.
KDHS currently fields a wide range of interscholastic athletic teams. Fall sports include Girls Volleyball and Boys Soccer. In the winter we offer Girls and Boys Basketball. The spring season is our most diverse season. We offer Coeducational Track and Field at the "AAA" level, where we compete against larger schools. Coeducational Badminton, Girls Soccer and Boys Floor Hockey is also played and we are introducing a new Coeducational Ultimate Frisbee team this year. Each team is coached by teachers and, or community coaches, with teams competing in different leagues.
In 2007-2008, the KDHS Lions won the Junior and Senior GVISAA Boys Floor Hockey Championships under Mr. Amram and Mr. Young. The Lions also won GVISAA Division 2 Senior Boys Basketball led by Mr. Amram and Captain Yaniv Koblentz. The Junior Girls Basketball Team finished in 2nd place as did the Senior Boys Soccer Team.
Here are the athletic programs planned for the 2008-09 school year and their respective coaches:
We are also trying to create a Coeducational Golf Team and are in the process of sorting out the logistics.
