WOW! Grease Cast and Crew Take a Bow!

Grease Montage
Watch a montage from the wonderful production!

On Wednesday and Thursday night, the Norman Rothstein Theatre was alive with music as the King David Players presented this year’s theatre production,
Grease, covering the friendships, romances, and adventures of a group of high school kids in the 1950s. Featuring a cast and crew of students from every grade, our actors and musicians brought to life the iconic musical, known as the most successful movie musical of all time!

Playing to a sold-out house both nights, the production received rave reviews! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our students. With all the creative commitment and hard work from our cast, crew, and community, we created a fun, joyful musical.

To Aron Rosenberg, Johnny Seguin, Richelle Goodwin, and Wendy Oberlander, who created the production that involved 63 students from all grades working on stage and behind the scenes – Kol Hakavod!

Ari Shiff, Aaron, Grade 9 winner of an iPad, and Math teacher, Miss Lane

March 14 was Pi Day! This year, our Pi Day contestants had to complete multiple activities related to Pi. The participating students were focused and engaged with the task at hand. Congratulations to Aaron, Grade 9, who won the iPad prize, to our Grade 8 winner, Noam, and our Grade 10 winner, Inbar.

Thank you to Inflection Management Inc. and the Shiff/van Messel family for supporting Pi Day at King David and generously donating the iPad prize.

Lining up for a delicious slice of pie and ice-cream!

All students were treated to a variety of pies accompanied by ice cream during lunch. Thank you to our phenomenal PAC co-chairs, Sarah Schaffer and Shannon Gorski, and their wonderful crew of helpers: Judy Leinburd, Sharon Goldman, and Andy Beron.

Anna-Mae Wiesenthal (second row, second from right) with the Grade 11 class at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary

Our Grade 11 Social Studies class would like to extend a thank you to Anna-Mae Wiesenthal from King David High School for coming to speak with us about the Holocaust. Her presentation was informative and sensitive. Although I’d learned about the Holocaust before, I had never truly understood the severity of the circumstances,  the importance of remembrance, and what it means for us today. We learned so much more about the Holocaust and now I am interested in learning even more.
~ Ariadne Meriwether, Grade 11, Sir Charles Tupper Secondary
