Chag Purim Sameach!

King David was filled with loud music and much laughter today!

The day began with the reading of the Megillah by the Kollel’s Rabbi Shmulik, followed by a colourful carnival set up and led by Student Council. Afterwards, students and staff were treated to a delicious barbeque lunch prepared by our wonderful PAC parents.

In the afternoon groups of students travelled to Louis Brier and B’nai Brith Housing to deliver Mishloach Manot and Matanat l’Evyonim. We were also treated to a clever Purim Shpieel produced and preformed by our Grade 12 students.

As a community we performed the four mitzvot of Purim:
  1. The Reading of the Megillah
  2. Sharing Mishloach Manot (The Sending of Gifts to One Another)
  3. Delivering Matanot l’Evyonim (Gifts to the Poor)
  4. Purim Seudah (meal)

We ended the day with an amusing performance by the UBC Improv group! Such a fun way to begin a long weekend!
