On Wednesday and Thursday night, the Norman Rothstein Theatre was alive with music and a giant flesh-eating plant as the King David Players presented this year’s theatre production, Little Shop of Horrors. Featuring a cast of students from every grade, our actors and musicians brought to life the dark comedy/musical.
With all the creative commitment and hard work from our cast, crew, and community, we created a fun, joyful musical, and while the plot was not light, the musical numbers certainly were! The Norman Rothstein Theatre was filled both nights and the production received rave reviews! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our students.

To Aron Rosenberg, Johnny Seguin, and Anna-Mae Wiesenthal, who created the production that involved 50 students from all grades working on stage and behind the scenes – Kol Hakavod!

"What a great night!
You really can see what an incredibly complicated labour of love this is when you see the number of students involved and consider how hard they have been working since early in the school year. Putting on a production like this is far from easy, and the proof of both the student and staff commitment was overwhelmingly evident.

Kudos Aron, Johnny and Anna-Mae!"

Pi Day

March 14 was Pi Day! This year, our Pi Day contestants had to complete a multiple-choice set of questions on Pi History, and then they had to solve five problems that required using Pi in the calculations. The participating students were focused and engaged with the task at hand. Congratulations to Landon, Grade 9, who won the iPad prize, and to our Grade 8 winner, Aaron.

Thank you to Inflection Management Inc. and the Shiff/van Messel family for supporting Pi Day at King David and generously donating the iPad prize.

Students were all treated to a variety of pies accompanied by ice cream during lunch. Thank you to our phenomenal PAC Co-chairs, Sarah Schaffer and Shannon Gorski, and their wonderful crew of helpers: Judy Leinburd, Tanyss Bugis, Liora Rosenkrantz, Sharon Goldman and Betina Jacob!

The Grade 10 students had excellent weather for the annual snowshoeing field trip to Cypress Bowl Mountain. Cypress had received over 50 cm of snow in the previous 48 hours, so the conditions were outstanding. The students trekked through untouched snow tracks as they learned about nature and keeping safe in the wilderness, and they even had some time to slide down a few hills.
