Go Lions!

Team Members: Back Row: Mr. O’Sullivan (coach), Noah, Shane, Matt, Alex, Josh B., Shmuel,
Oren, Josh A., and Liam. Front Row: Almog, Solly, Adam, Eric, Eduardo and Justin.
Missing: Yannay and Ms. Lawrence (coach).

Congratulations to the Senior Boys Soccer Team, who won the silver medal this season in the GVISAA Senior Boys Soccer Championships. The Lions were in tough against a provincially-ranked Meadowridge team, but managed to send the game into extra time after an amazing goal by Eric, Grade 9, in the second half. Neither team scored during extra time, so the game went into penalty kicks, where Meadowridge outscored our Lions.  The Lions were voted the league’s Most Sportsmanlike Team! A wonderful accomplishment, boys!

Team Members: Back Row: Ms. Bauck (coach) Lis, Elle, Anastasia, Izzy, Ashley, Michelle and
Mr. Amram (coach). Front Row: Sophie, Shayna, Sydney, Barbie, Justine and Katrin.

Congratulations are in order for our Senior Girls Volleyball Team who finished as the third seed in the West Conference this season, posting a record of four wins and four losses. The girls improved tremendously throughout the season, with the enthusiastic instruction of Mr. Dichter and the supportive supervision of Ms. Tabi.  The girls lost their GVISAA playoff game to Ecole Gabrielle-Roy, but still have the upcoming Lower Mainland Zone F Volleyball Championships taking place on November 18 and 19 at Ecole Jules Verne.  Good luck, girls!
Happenings at King David

Very proud of our Grade 12 students who participated in a King David Blood Drive (You have to be 17 years old to donate). Collectively they donated three litres of blood! Matty, Sydney, Nufar, Izzy and Yannay plan to continue doing this mitzvah.

On a rainy Thursday, Ms. Bauck and the PE 11 girls (Amanda, Katrin, Ruth, Liz,
Yuval, Elle, Justine, Aimee and Davina), enjoyed a hike up Cypress Mountain.
They had fun despite not being able to see the spectacular views, and
stopped along the way to take a group photo.

King David Open House

It’s your time! Are you ready?

If you or someone you know has a child entering Grade 8 through 11 next year this evening is not to be missed! Invite them to join us to experience the difference that is King David.

The King David Open House is one of the best opportunities for prospective parents and students to discover why our families choose King David. During the evening, families will be welcomed by our Head of School, Russ Klein, hear from students and alumni, and explore the school during an interactive tour.

Everyone is welcome to attend! Please share!

Call for Props

On March 16 and 17, 2016, the King David Players are putting on the classic musical, Little Shop of Horrors. Get ready for all the slapstick and horror of a man-eating (and woman-eating) plant, and the lovers who try to save the world from not only the plants, but their own greed and fantasies! We are looking to borrow some props, and are wondering if anyone in the community has any of the following items that they may be able to lend us for the week of the play (March 14 – 18, 2016). We would greatly appreciate it!

Here is our wish list:
  • a large clock or clock face
  • a tip on a good place for renting scaffolding
  • half-used spray paint cans
  • old cash register
  • dentist tools and old drill
  • dentist chair
  • tooth costumes
  • free standing fire-pit
  • plant costumes or green suits
  • gas mask
  • plant shop tools
  • typewriter
  • old metal trash cans
  • window frames
  • prop intestines

If anyone has anything on this list, we do not need it until March. However, if you can let our Drama teacher, Aron Rosenberg, know in the meantime, that would be helpful!

Thank you for your support.
