The Har Vagai Delegation

What a successful week it was despite the many days of rain! Everything was better than expected and the 67 Grade 9 students were involved in activities day and night! From the joyful reunion at the airport to the very sad farewell on Wednesday night, the students had an incredibly rich opportunity to learn from one another. We could not have managed without the amazing support we received from our Grade 9 families – first, for trusting us to travel to Israel with their children in Grade 8 and then graciously hosting the Israeli students during their visit here.

On top of the world!

There were many activities planned both inside and outside of school. From lessons in the classroom, sightseeing and shopping to a special King David Shabbat dinner, our visitors had the opportunity to truly experience life as a teen in VancouverAn additional Todah Rabah to families that hosted parties and social activities for students over the weekend.

Speaking with the students and their Israeli sponsor teachers, Inbar and Galit, this trip was more than they expected – they could not believe how much support and care they received from everyone.

A huge expression of gratitude to King David teacher, Dorin Eilon-Heiber, for all her hard work in making this visit happen so seamlessly. The group of 24 students and 2 teachers was the largest delegation to visit a North American school!

We would like to thank the Jewish Federation and their P2G program
as without their support we
would not be able to build this living bridge!

No Mo’ Mo
A month of moustaches!

The end of November is finally here…! This means we can say goodbye to all of the moustaches at King David unless there are a few teachers who really like the look…

We’re proud to announce that as of November 28, our fundraising efforts from online donations and student contributions amounted close to $900!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Movember campaign, particularly the teachers and students who grew moustaches, students for making this campaign happen, and to our donors for contributing to this fundraiser.

If you would like to make a last minute donation and see some interesting ‘old’ pictures of the King David team, please visit our official team page.
 King David’s Board of Directors

The Annual General Meeting of the King David Board provided an opportunity for us to extend sincere appreciation to the outgoing members of our board, Michael Moscovich, Jeremy Horwitz and Danna Marks who have worked tirelessly on behalf of the school and to welcome the incoming members William Clark, Lissa Weinberger, and Alain Guez.

A special thank you was extended to Michael Moscovich and Jeremy Horwitz for their many years of service to the King David community.
