A Full (Open) House at King David

Last night, the school was filled with families interested in exploring King David as the next step in their educational journey. Over 140 people joined the presentation hosted by our students with Russ Klein, Head of School, and the entire King David teaching staff.

Below is the introductory video presentation which will provide a small taste of the evening. It will give you just a hint of what an extraordinary experience we offer our students and community.

Open House - Imagine

Thank you to the many families who attended and made the evening such a success! Thank you as well to all of the King David students who so willingly volunteered their time to serve as ambassadors for their school!
King David Remembers

On November 12th, students gathered in the atrium to remember those who served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict, and peace.

Our Grade 10 Social Studies students shared stories from those who participated in the wars. As a generation that has never seen war, it is even more important to remember and learn from these events.

SafeTeen Presentation

Yesterday, our Grade 10 students participated in a SafeTeen workshop. The program teaches youth how to use tools to help manage and de-escalate personal challenges and real dangers they may face.  SafeTeen also empowers youth in social emotional survival and physical, mental, and sexual activity. The genders of each grade were split to ensure an open, honest conversation and a genuine learning platform for each student.

Everyone was engaged throughout the discussion

By surprise, we were honoured today to have the Founder and guiding force of SafeTeen, Anita Roberts, join our girls in discussion. Anita has been given many distinctive awards for her international work including being chosen as a Canadian representative on Violence Against Women to the United Nations.

Presenting at the Jewish Book Festival

In recent weeks, King David students have been participating in a digital storytelling project for the Jewish Book Festival. This special project was led by Mark Leiren-Young, the Jewish Book Festival’s 2014 Jewish Literary Laureate, and supported by students and teachers at King David.

Pairing seniors in the Jewish community with young film-makers and storytellers at King David, students interviewed and filmed the seniors to capture treasured memories and stories to preserve in a digital format.

On November 23, these films will be shared for the first time. Please support our students as they unveil their work and share their experience working on this legacy project.
