Grade 8 students begin their Math exam

During the last 2 weeks, our students have been focused on writing Mid-Year Exams. We believe these exams are essential preparation for solidifying material studied in the first half of the school year, and an important step in preparing for Final Exams. We are very proud of how hard our students prepared for these exams and we wish them a wonderful Family Day Long Weekend without studying!

De-stressing …

Eduardo, Ben, Daniel, Jason, Aaron, Matthew and Justin strike a yoga pose

At King David, we take very seriously our role in developing the whole child and ensuring each student’s well-being. Exam times can be challenging and in an effort to support our students in maintaining balance, PE classes during the exam period had students practicing yoga. A fun way to practice wellness and just take a moment to breathe!

Dissecting …

Adam and Sam, Grade 12, – future cardiologists?
On Wednesday, students dissected pigs’ hearts, furthering their study of the circulatory system.  Students identified all the different parts of the heart including the four chambers, heart valves and arteries.

RAC Week 2014:

1,000 Mitzvah Challenge

 Friday, February 21st

Can a school of 180 students perform 1,000 mitzvahs in one day?

This year, Random Acts of Chesed (RAC) week kicks off on Friday, February 21st with a 1,000 mitzvah challenge. King David students will set out to inspire and spread chesed (kindness) throughout the Vancouver community.

Please join us on Friday, February 21st at 12pm for a BBQ lunch followed by Kabbalat Shabbat. Together we will explore the concept of random acts of kindness and set an intent and Kavanah for chesed in our community.

RAC week was inspired by our beloved Gabi Isserow z”l whose actions represented the spirit of chesed. If you would like to continue to support chesed at King David you can donate online through the Gabrielle Isserow z”l Fund.

If you woul
d like to join us for the BBQ and Kabbalat Shabbat, please RSVP at 604.263.9700 ext. 109 or email our Sharon Dwek.
