Hello My Friends …

As part of the oral fluency component of our French program, the Grade 8, 9 and 10 French classes have been working on a play called “Salut Mon Ami.”  Below is a sample of their work. We hope you enjoy this video of the French 10 class’s performance.

The Bantam Boys basketball team, led by head coach Rabbi Stephen Berger and assistant coach Mason Freedman, are having an excellent season thus far. The Lions are currently 6-0 and have improved tremendously throughout the course of the season. The team’s next games are on Friday, February 7th at 2:45pm at the JCC, versus Fraser Academy, and on Tuesday, February 18th at West Point Grey Academy.  The players, who have shown great enthusiasm, sportsmanship and teamwork, include Asher, Jason, Matthew, Eduardo, Justin M, Josh B, Ben and Viktor from our Grade 8 class, as well as Eric and Solly from VTT.  Congratulations boys! Keep up the amazing work.

Farewell Mr. Watchorn

Thank you, Mr. Watchorn!

This week we are bidding a fond farewell to our Art teacher, Thom Watchorn, who joined the King David family this past September. Mr. Watchorn was filling in for Wendy Oberlander who has been on sabbatical leave. In his brief time here, Mr. Watchorn has had a tremendous impact on our students and school, giving generously of his time and many talents to enrich not only the classes he taught but our many school celebrations and extra-curricular activities. Along with providing engaging opportunities in his Art classes, Mr. Watchorn also led our school yearbook team, helped construct a Coke-bottle Hannukiah, and was a teacher sponsor for our ski team.

Fortunately it is not a complete goodbye for Mr. Watchorn; he will be one of the teachers traveling with our Grade 8 class to Israel this spring and he will be back at King David to take part in our annual RAC Week festivities.

Thank you Mr. Watchorn! We look forward to seeing you soon!
